Handling mosquitoes properly

Lemon eucalyptus essential oil

Citronella essential oil

Mosquitoes do not even have a chance against this oil, which is extracted from lemon grass. Its powerful smell will expel mosquitoes instantly, keeping you safe from other insects as well.

Citrus fruits

According to one study, the peel from citrus fruits can destroy the persistent mosquitoes and keep your house fresh and clean.

DIY MOSQUITO REPELLENT MASON JARS

Essential oils work more effectively when combined, therefore by mixing two or three different oils, you get additional benefits in dealing with nasty insects.

Ingredients and supplies:

  • 2 mason jars
  • 10 drops of lemon eucalyptus essential oil
  • 10 drops of citronella essential oil
  • One lemon, sliced
  • One lime, sliced
  • 4 rosemary sprigs
  • Floating disc candles
  • Directions


You need to fill each jar with equal parts of lemon and lime slices. Then, add 2 sprigs rosemary in each jar. Pour ¾ of water in the jars and add 10 drops of all essential oils in a separate jar. Keep in mind not to mix them. To start the process, you need to light a candle.

You can use them easily in every section of your house and yard, and enjoy your insect-free nights all summer long.
